Frank Clark Release
The Seattle Seahawks released veteran defensive end Frank Clark on Saturday, per report. After only two months and with little effect, Clark’s contract with the Seahawks comes to an end. With just six tackles in six games for the team in 2023, he is leaving Seattle. Despite not being listed on the team’s injury report, he had been idle for two of the Seahawks’ prior three games. He then skipped practice before Sunday’s Week 17 game against the Steelers. Since he last had a career-high 13 sacks in 2018, Clark’s performance has decreased, and he hasn’t even passed the eight-sack level since 2019. He potentially is available to sign for a playoff run. Now that Clark is free once more, Kansas City might be a possibility for him given the success he had with the Chiefs.
Eskridge, Adams, and Clark were already out of the Pittsburgh game.
Jamal Adams Status
Jamal Adams of the Seattle Seahawks was placed on injured reserve. Also, the Seattle Seahawks have put their wide receiver, Dee Eskridge, on the injured reserve list. Because of the effects of the surgery, he underwent to repair a torn quad tendon in the opening game of the previous season, Adams has been either in or out of the lineup during the entirety of the season. Coach Pete Carroll had already expressed the possibility of seating him for the rest of the season after he missed the previous three games. Carroll mentioned it on Friday. He is marked as out by us. This week, he won’t be able to make it back. He’s putting in every effort possible but the fact that he’s still struggling.
Dee Eskridge Status
Since being selected in the 2021 draft, Eskridge will have missed 27 possible 51 games, including a six-game suspension to begin his 2023 campaign. He has only had 17 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown in his career and was unable to catch his only target this year. Eskridge’s career will now begin with a three-year stint on injured reserve. It’s safe to say that the Seahawks have yet to reap the benefits of their previous second-round selection fully.

Replacements
The Seahawks have added offensive tackle Jake Curhan, safety Ty Okada, and linebacker Patrick O’Connell from the practice squad to the active roster to cover the three vacated positions. Jordyn Brooks, the linebacker, is out of this week’s game, so O’Connell should offer some depth at the position. Furthermore, Seattle declared that this weekend’s regular gameday elevations from the practice squad will include nose tackle Austin Faoliu and cornerback Kelvin Joseph.
